Listen now
Description
How do I know when to transition my portfolio? It's a classic question because it's a paradox. If you want to get hired, press pause on the stuff that's not absolutely crucial. And go make the stuff you want to get hired to create. A convoluted and broad portfolio does not allow you to make a name for yourself. So build a portfolio with your spare time, money and energy to get the work you really want. A few other keys: > Market yourself as the thing you want to be, not the thing that's paying the bills right now > Your portfolio is constantly evolving. It's okay to put it out there without it being perfect. Perfectionism is a major block > How can you put more of YOU in your photos, work, business etc. What is your unique upbringing, perspective, or interests? Bring all that good stuff into the next phase of your portfolio The bottom line: your portfolio has to look like the work you want to do. Enjoy! --- Today's episode is brought to you by CreativeLive.
