An offensive approach to offensive behavior.
I’ve gotten used to skipping to the 3 minute mark to avoid all the blather. Recently, however, it became apparent the narrator believes we are too stupid to dis-associate the quasi racists epitaphs of a story created in the 1920’s with modern sensibilities. In the fictional Buck Rogers story the enemy is the Chinese and they use terms like ‘yellow’ to describe them. One of the fun things about old science fiction is how incredibly wrong it is. I truly enjoyed listening to part one and reflecting on things like WWII, nuclear power, and geo politics of the last century. I will NOT be listening to any more parts to this story because there won’t be any. After all, isn’t the best way to fight against racism (China isn’t a race) is to ignore all references and pretend it doesn’t exist? I’ll tune in every once in a while to see if there is anything interesting but I fear I’m too ignorant to continue listening each week and purchasing the merchandise.
