As someone who watched a lot of medical dramas growing up (E.R., Chicago Hope etc) I’ve long been intrigued and horrified by a system that allows people to go bankrupt because they happen to get sick, or asks them for their insurance details when they’re first wheeled in to the E.R. from the ambulance. I’m only 2 episodes in so far, but it’s already giving me some insights.

This is such a hot button topic for me having had a few nightmare billing situations, I was hesitant to listen concerned it would trigger strong feelings back to the surface.
