This is my second time listening because I really enjoy the story. The only thing that is slightly annoying is that the chapters don’t play in order but instead in the order they were uploaded.

I thought at first my narration speed must have been kicked up because it was ridiculously fast, but no; it was on the default speed of 1X and annoyingly fast and the .5 speed is way too slow so there’s just no tolerating this one!

I looked forward every day to listening to Dantes and his vengeful story. Masterfully written and the reader had a great pace and voice. Highly recommend this as something to invest your time in.

Unabridged and a nice translation, but played at a normal speed the reader has a great many noticeable wet mouth sounds in the reading. This is less noticeable when played at 1 1/2x or 2x speed.

This recording is the unabridged version as is well worth the investment of time. The narrator was superb; nothing in his voice or intonations distracted from the masterpiece.

A great read, with one annoying feature: the reader should have been able to pronounce the foreign words. Leipzig is LIPEzig, not LEAPzig. And hearing “monsieur” constantly mispronounced is minor but a constant irritant. Same with the other French names. But I finally got to read this classic.

Helppppp: I just got iOS 11 and now the audiobook has disappeared from the podcast store. When I search it, there are three other Librivox versions and one Loyal books version, but this one which is THE BEST is not there. The only way I can still see it is that I had three episodes downloaded...Read full review »

Love this book! Some may call it juvenile, but it is a wonderful work to me.

I have never been a fan of classical fiction until I discovered USF's free audiobooks. I loved this book, and I look forward to the time when I have forgotten enough of this book that I can freshly listen to it again.Read full review »

One of my all time favorite books! I've read it once before but found I was not doing justice to the French words. Thank you for doing this.Read full review »

I read this book in the ninth grade as a part of my summer reading requirement for high school and I have been in love with it ever since. I was delighted to find the audio version of the book! Very well done!

This was a great audiobook. I bought the unabridged version and found this to keep me focused. Sometimes the book drags, but the reader kept me engaged. It was quite nice to read the book and listen to it at the same time. Because of that, I finished it in half the time I expected to. Thank...Read full review »

I knew I would not be able to read a hard copy of this book, but this version is wonderful. Plus its free!!! The reader is very good and handled the pronunciation of the names really well. I will definitely 'hear' it again.

The story is really amazing and well told. The reader was excellent. Thanks USF for making these high quality audiobooks free to the public. It is truly a wonderful service. These audiobooks have really exposed me to the joy that literature can bring.

This was a GREAT book and read with excellence! I listened to it twice and will again if time allows. It was worth every minute! Thanks Litogo and USF for providing books to listen to that I otherwise would not have time to sit and read myself!

Thank you so much USF Lit2Go for putting up an unabridged version of this novel. More readers need to familiarize themselves with such a great work of literature. As for the the reader-- I very much enjoy his voice with the narrative. This was overall a very good experience with an audiobook!

It took me literally DECADES to track down an unabridged WRITTEN copy of The Count of Monte Cristo, in my opinion, one of the finest books ever written. I marvel at the dedication and fortitude it took to record this two-volume, approximately 1400-page (in my edition) work to audio. Kudos! I...Read full review »
