Hmmm and hawww
Great show, but Michael, the incessant hmmmm’s, ahhhs, and mmmhmmms are a distracting nuisance and add nothing to the arc of your stories. We aren’t listening to hear that you find something interesting or surprising. We are listening because we are interested in the subject matter. Your job is to probe your interviewees to provide in-depth content that we listeners can deem interesting or not. You don’t need to editorialize with these constant guttural utterings. If you aren’t advancing the story consider holding your tongue.
