“I like this show and find Micheal to be a good reporter. I think that the show could interview a more diverse group of people. I also found the dispatch at border episode to be problematic. It was very clear that the two reporters had never been to the border. They made it seem like they were going to the Wild West or something. It also seemed like they didn’t do enough research prior to making their journey. Why would you swim across the border when you have a passport and your trip is paid for? And then why would you laugh about it after as if people don’t crossing the river because that’s actually their only option. In addition, I found it to be very dramatic for them to be sacred to the people in the van. As said on In The Thick, the people in the van were probably confused because two white people swam across a river. Another piece that seemed problematic was the one on the women’s march. The woman that was interviewed seemed to side with one group more than the other and even laugh when talking about the Women’s March. I do enjoy the show, but it would be better if intellectuals who come from underrepresented communities were represented more often on this show.”
