“The latest episode (cancel culture part 1) managed to say JK Rowling has been accused of transphobia yet in no way explained what she has ever said on the subject.
It’s sloppy journalism to repeat a morally-laden criticism without actually describing what she said that was apparently so bad. It didn’t endorse it, yet it presented the charge without any analysis of why it could be true or not.
This sort of thing is frustrating. It feels very much like the NYT has decided on one characterisation that its listeners/readers should accept unthinkingly rather than presenting the raw material for us to make up our minds.”
