Oversold
I listen to a lot of true crime, including Crime Junkie and The Deck. Although I laud the team for the work they did to draw attention to the case of Darlene Hulse, I felt that this series was overextended and did not correspond to the hype about unbelievable twists and turns in the promos. Basically, this one is unsolved due to the primitive forensics of the time and lackluster police follow up in the ensuing years. I thought the breathless rummaging through possible suspects was a distraction and somewhat irresponsible, and the autopsy debrief was sort of pointless and sensational. Regardless of whether she was strangled or died from blunt force trauma, she was murdered, and probably sexually assaulted. I hope forensics can deliver and solve this case for the family.
