“Voyager might be my favorite show, not bc of the dazzling special effects or the award winning acting or writing, but bc it’s charming - just makes me happy to watch. Love the characters and the friendships, and the innocent optimism and thought provoking storylines.
For the love of GOD, why does Robert have to be such a drag? I get (and respect) that he is a successful director, so he has a critical eye for film and tv, but he’s always nitpicking every little thing. It sounds like he’s professionally embarrassed to be associated with the show. I mean, EVERY week he belittles Voyager and frankly, as a big fan, it’s annoying. He’s clearly not a Star Trek fan and it doesn’t sound like he “gets” the show. He seems like a great guy in general, but I wish he’d lighten up, and remember that gratuitous criticism isn’t the funnest thing for the audience (avid Voyager fans)to constantly hear.
I do love the banter between Robert Duncan McNeill. They clearly are good friends and very nice people and when Robert’s not trashing the show, the podcast is funny and enjoyable.
I didn’t know what Garret Wang was like before the podcast, but what a pleasant surprise! He’s HILARIOUS. I appreciate the way he doesn’t take himself too seriously and his impressions are extremely entertaining. Also, it’s enjoyable to hear his perspective bc he’s obviously a sci fi fan, and he critiques Voyager fairly and he sees the show for what the show is, and doesn’t expect it to be Shakespeare, like others on the podcast lol.
I love the limericks and haikus. Brilliant and hilarious touch. Kudos to Garret and McNeill’s wife, gifted poets with a great sense of humor. ;-)
Love hearing Garret and Robert’s stories about working on the show, and it makes me happy to hear them joke with each other and enjoy each other’s friendship. They have great charisma together and I highly recommend the podcast to all Voyager fans.”
