shortsighted and biased
True crime as a genre has many issues and this show represents a huge one of them. The entire narrative of the second season was biased as to what conclusions we should draw, and had scattered, inconsistent evidence to back up this conclusion. Add in some gratuitous descriptions of violence and high production value and you have a show which seems to have high-level analysis but is lacking in any sort of comprehensive gender or bigger picture social science analysis
