I’d like to know with all his degrees if he has actually had paid clients, not college students via Free resources. He lacks real advice for people who have been through trauma. Every time someone shows signs of a hard or traumatized past, he characterizes them as children and as someone who...Read full review »

I’ve listened to Dave Ramsey since I was 19, so 25 years! I’ve listened to the show evolved from just Dave on to his other personalities and Dr. D has been my favorite addition! I’m someone who has been in and out of counseling for years, have met a ton of bad ones and a couple good ones, but...Read full review »

I learn something new every time I listen to this show! When you stop learning, you quit growing and you never will know it all but you can live a great life with intelligent advice from respected professionals like Dr. John! I love to share episodes with friends. The Dr. John show has taught me...Read full review »

Some of these negative reviews are hilarious. This is my favorite podcast and I’ve gotten some excellent advice for my own life even when my situations don’t match up to the callers’. He’s even entertaining and fun to listen to when I can’t relate to the caller at all.

Dr Deloney, thank you for sharing your wisdom and for lending an honest ear to all callers . I learn a lot from your show and your guidance has gotten me through some very hard days. God bless and please keep up the great work! Much love from New Jersey.

I have just listened to every episode of Dr. John, and I’m sad that I have to wait for the next podcast to come out. I have learned more from these individual calls that he talks through then I could ever have imagined. I’ve taken the skills that he shares and have implemented them in my own...Read full review »

Hearing people’s stories and situations and how John gives them advice and helps equips them helps me to 1. Know that my problems I think are big are actually small and 2. Better be able to see issues in my own life and address them before they become more intense or severe. I also like that this...Read full review »

I enjoy his sense of humor and approach toward problems. I’ve listened to Dave Ramsey for years, but never really liked the various Ramsey Personalities. This is the exception. All the others felt stuck on a sound bite or well-rehearsed skit, but he is fresh, unexpected, and real.

John not only is a great counselor, or a genuine human being. He really cares. I often listen and either have similar questions when he asks, or I’m blown away by the insight. He’s helped a lot of people through some really tough times over the years, so you can hear he goes the extra mile to...Read full review »

I don’t get this. Why is this show so popular... it is so depressing. It makes me feel so down and sad every time I listen, I just can’t anymore. Dr. D... just loves to pontificate. He’s not the worst, but he’s not the best either. I’d prefer Dave Ramsey’s advice 9x out of ten even on these...Read full review »

So the show is OK. It’s 50 min of meh and then the last 2 minutes he gives a “greatest song of all time” and I have really been loving them! I was a sheltered kid growing up and now I feel like I’m re-living a musical childhood I never had! But in all seriousness the podcast is great. Dr. John...Read full review »

I am a school teacher. I deal with trauma everyday- in kids and their families. One thing I’ve always had a passion for is behavior- I’m constantly analyzing the behavior of those I serve in order to find ways to serve them better. John, you’re so smart and yet so human and relatable. It is very reassuring hearing your stories and perspectives, and especially your confessions of imperfection and daring to be yourself on air.

I really like the show and listen to many of the podcasts…. I find it interesting the situations that people find themselves in. I like Dr John’s calm response and also his probing questions that ask the person to look at themselves also. It has helped me to reflect on how I may be contributing to my own problems.

I want to keep it positive, and I am positive that being offended or scared by the notion of transgenders and non-believers makes you a close-minded idiot. I can’t believe John would put a freak show on his show and the caller is a complete moron. Transgender is a mental disorder. It doesn’t change who you actually are. Disgusting. This has quickly become my absolute favorite podcast! So fascinating, and it dives into peoples’ lives in a way no other show does. Just picked up a book mentioned on the show, and it’s been great. So listening has brought positive change in my life too!

Wow. Interesting how Dave Ramsey always talks about God when it comes to money, but when it comes to relationships and mental health apparently God doesn’t know anything about that? Just listened to your conversation with Ann who attempted suicide. I did the same thing in November after 18 months of raising a 14 teen boy with bipolar. He was verbally abusive to me and one day I just snapped. Thank you for being real, horse noises and all!

I listened to this podcast expecting to hear biblical counseling because it’s part of the Ramsey network. Firstly, I love the podcast. When the podcast started each call topic had a “start” time in front of it so we could jump to that part of the show for specific calls. I’m a big fan of this show, which surprised me with the research-based but anchored-in-compassion wisdom Dr. Delaney offers. He’s really great, says surprising things all the time, makes jokes that include himself, and is just generally helpful in ways I hadn’t even expected. Thanks!!
