I have fought with guilt for a horrible mistake I made 45 years ago. 40 years of praying for forgiveness, grieving, and reliving my personal nightmare. After decades of prayer, I finally know that I am forgiven by God. I am learning to have thoughts ready when the guilt and shame shows up to haunt me. After I read this book, I am finally taking bricks out of my backpack. I have enrolled in a Celebrate Recovery class at my church. Years of counseling and I have never had been able to voice my shame and regret. Now I am trying to look to my future and voice this shame aloud.
