Description
Alan welcomes Josh Hancock – JoshCAR Hollywood Car Consultant as the duo discuss the next step in electric vehicles, synthetic noises!  Dodge being a muscle car brand, will those people go to the electric version with synthesized sounds?  Will the buyers follow and evolve with, manufacturers such as Dodge?  The world is moving into the electric car era.  Ford and Volkswagen people are following their brands.  Alan shares that he saw a Ford F150 Lightning for sale and wouldn’t mind buying it.  Josh test-drove one for a week.  He said there isn’t anything he doesn’t like.  Josh switches topics to announce that Maserati introduced their first EV.  They freshened the body of the Grand Turismo and are offering gas-power trains or electric. Gas-powered Turismo.  Alan says it’s a smart thing to give people a choice between gas or electricity.  Up next is George Kennedy III – Co-founder of Cartender and Freelance Automotive Journalist for CarGurus, Boston Globe, and U.S. News & World Report.  George is attending an event, Digital Dealer in Las Vegas.  He shares that there aren’t enough charging ports to support the infrastructure.  It will take about 10 years to build to catch up with the demand. George has been test-driving the 2023 Mercedes EQS.  It’s an electric S-Class luxury sedan, with a hatch and massive cargo area.  The EQS 4matic version has a 277-mile range with a dual motor setup.  Starting price over $100k.   Up next is BJ Killeen – Automotive Journalist and Voice of Reason. She is text-driving a 2023 Mini Cooper Countryman.  Quality is a good, decent vehicle, but it doesn’t scoot and is slow to accelerate. Did it drive well?  It was ok, just slow, and heavy.  Dan Sandberg – Former President and CEO of Brembo Brakes North America, closes the show with Alan. The gentlemen discuss General Motors branching out and diving into energy management services and solutions.  GM energy will consist of ultium home, ultium commercial and 360.  A great way to diversify.  More relevant.  Building infrastructures that will support all aspects.  Dan asks a question since electric vehicles are coming out with more torque and horsepower than gas-powered cars, do you think that the manufacturers didn’t deliver the best in regard to torque and acceleration in gas-powered vehicles as they are in electric vehicles?   Maybe a little, but were moving into a new era, and its gonna take time.
