Sharing the Lived Experience: An Opportunity to Listen on Racism
This episode is a contribution to our ongoing national conversation about racism. It is often said that white Americans need to listen more. One problem is, too many white Americans don't have close friends who are black. And if you do, you may be uncomfortable talking with them or asking questions about race.
For this episode, I invited three friends and former students to share their lived experiences as black Americans. They are only three perspectives among many, but their thoughts and experiences are incredibly powerful. This episode runs long, because there was such an enormous amount to share.
If you aren't able to "listen" anywhere else, I hope you take advantage of this opportunity. And if you are already tuned in, I hope you listen to these three additional perspectives. -
Q&A with an Expert on the Coronavirus
We get short reports and bits and pieces on the coronavirus every day, but sometimes it all seems like a mess. What are you supposed to think when sources contradict each other? Who do you trust? What's REALLY happening out there? And most importantly, what should we be doing now? My guest for Episode 3 is Dr. Constantine Kanakis, an expert pathologist who actively works on infectious diseases and is a scientific/medical expert on the coronavirus. We cover most of what's in the news in one easy place, including the science (translated for lay people!), politics and societal implications of this pandemic.

The Endless Files: Episode 1 - The Real Economy
When we hear about "the economy" in the news, it is usually the macro-economy, focusing on the stock market, GDP growth, inflation and unemployment. But that is really only the economy from a 10,000 ft view. The "REAL" economy is the economy as it is felt by real, everyday human beings. People who work for a living, and can't count on investments and huge salaries or stock options. The real economy has been getting worse for decades, and the current coronavirus pandemic is highlighting a lot of these problems.
