The Creator Middle Class Does Not Exist

Heather joins the podcast this week to talk about an often ignored and minimized group of creators who aren't just starting out, but also aren't "mega channels" with huge teams and budgets– creators who have much more in common with local small business owners than Mr. Beast, despite both sharing the title of "Creator."

NAB 2024 Recap: Gear & Tears!

NAB 2024 Recap: Gear & Tears!

NAB 2024 was an absolutely incredibe experience. I made a recap video that shares a bit about the conventiopnm, but then dives into some of my more personal feelings related to all of the amazing people who have helped me to feel contextualized as a person.

This episode dives into what I learned when trying to make an event recap video along with some of the cool things I saw and learned at NAB (keeping the choked-upness to a minimum 😁 )

Staying Authentic in the Age of AI

Staying Authentic in the Age of AI

(This is an AI generated episode description just for fun 😬)
Discover the future of creation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and human ingenuity! Our latest podcast episode delves into the exciting realm of AI-enhanced art, music, and design, showcasing its transformative potential for creators worldwide. I'll also share my hands-on impressions of the Rode NT1 Signature Series microphone, discussing both its sleek design and its performance in my recording setup, offering insights that could shape your next audio investment.

This journey isn't just about the tools, but also the people behind them. We raise a toast to Bailey, our superstar moderator, who recently blew our minds with an AI-generated voice clone in his heartfelt message. As we unravel the authenticity of the AI craze, we also hint at a mysterious new microphone with advanced capabilities that's under wraps. Plus, I recount my own transformative experience with the Quest 3 headset, reinforcing how personal encounters with tech can redefine our daily lives and creative endeavors.

As we wrap up, our conversation turns to the ethics of AI in content creation, especially for YouTube creators. I discuss the limitations of AI-generated scripts, underscoring the irreplaceable value of personal touch and authenticity that resonates with viewers. We also look at how AI can be a partner in the creative process, assisting with content validation and idea generation, rather than a replacement. Join us as we explore these nuances and celebrate AI's supportive role in augmenting our content creation journey, all while maintaining the heartfelt connection that's at the core of every great story.

Wish I would’ve heard sooner

Tom is super helpful and thorough in his explanations. I started a podcast a year ago and wish I would found out about him back then. But better late than never. Thanks Tom!

Mariel. D. ,

Super helpful for beginners too!

You can tell that Tom puts a lot of time and effort into his content - which makes him very appealing for people who are experienced in the audio/video world. However, what I find extremely helpful is that he’s also able to make his content accessible to an absolute beginner as well. His welcoming tone and good nature make this podcast (and his YouTube channel) a fantastic resource for anyone interested in podcasting, video production or just looking to level up their online presence during meetings. And shout out to his wife, Heather, who also makes an appearance on the show. It’s so awesome to have a female voice and perspective in this space! Thank you!!!

AlkalineB ,

So easy to listen to

Tom is a wonderful human being, and extremely easy to just kick back and listen to. Happy to have more TB content.
