Eye rolling premise; out of touch analysis
I was brought to listen to The Loophole episode through my subscription to On the Media. So regard my annoyance is amplified by the fact I don’t choose to listen to this. At first I found the story interesting and host was a good storyteller. But when they explained the whole concept of the series and didn’t mention race AT ALL except maybe a vague “all that’s happened recently” statement, I knew this podcast was starting from an already idealistic belief about the basic goodness of this country. Oh I’m sure there will be a special episode or two on “Native Americans” and reservations maybe (rather than genocide and ongoing resources extraction) and one on Civil Rights. But the premise itself is rotten.
