    SERIAL KILLER 8 • The Hitcher (1986) + The Stepfather (1987)

Scholar Stacey Abbott joins me two movie serial killers: the chaos of The Hitcher (1986), where Rutger Hauer kills on the highway and the conservative fantasies of Terry O'Quinn in The Stepfather (1987).

SERIAL KILLERS 7 • The Boston Strangler (1986) + Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986)

Film critic and writer Katie Rife joins me to discuss very different two portraits of serial killers: the highly fictionalised The Boston Strangler (1968), starring Tony Curtis, and the acclaimed Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986), with the iconic Michael Rooker.

    SERIAL KILLERS 6 • 10 Rillington Place (1971) + The Vanishing (1988)

Actor and writer Isaura Barbé-Brown goes deep on two quietly distressing films: 10 Rillington Place (1971), which dramatises the real-life murderer John Christie, and the much-acclaimed Spoorloos (1988), a Dutch horror film that was dubbed by Stanley Kubrick to be the "most terrifying film" he'd ever seen. PLUS a little spoilery rant about the American remake The Vanishing (1993).

Cherry Falls!!!!

I thought this movie was a fever dream from my younger days! I was obsessed with the tv version here shown in the US when I was younger. Never realized how gorey it was bc it was a TV edit!! Loved the episode and revisit!!

The Best Ever

Well, if you aren’t obsessed with Anna, you are wrong. I adore this podcast. Smart feminist analysis is so needed, and I love keeping up with these themes. Well researched, smart, to the point, funny, and highly entertaining. I thoroughly recommend.
I only got into horror a few years ago, and thanks to people like Anna, who form a core community of devoted film analysts who share their minds with the world, I’m a convert.
