Been listening for a while, huge fan of the show and glad to have it back. Great contrast to normal football podcast content, and a funny insight into the mundane (or not so in some cases), lives of footballers. Keep it going!

I have just binged 5 eps in one day. It’s so cheerful, interesting and funny… Edit; disappointed by the betting advertisements. It’s an addiction that bankrupts vulnerable people, and tears their families apart. Please rethink your sponsors.

Great show that reviews obscure footballer autobiographies & keeps me laughing while i'm working from home. It's less Alfred Tennyson more Barry Venison.Read full review »

More Rob Green than John Green. I love books and love football but often end up hating football books. Thanks for showing me which ones are worth the read and which ones definitely are not! 😂 Also if James wants his Irish passport, no need to read Keano’s book. ☘️

If you love autobiographical works of art then this is the podcast for you. Great podcast, great guests and all served up with lashings of the sport we love. Bon Appetit

You had me at ‘Less Emily Bronte, more Antonio Conte’. Very good podcast and well worth the listen, especially for all the random Norwich player chants!

I’ve only listened to the episode about Memphis and it was hilarious. Coming from a Dutchman, I can only say that we often ask ourselves similar questions as you had while reading the book. Looking forward to more episodes about internationally known players!

This podcast has potential. Sometimes it’s a bit shallow and doesn’t go deep enough into the lives of the players they are talking about. One of their own complaints is that the footballers never mention what year it is/how old they are during any chapter of their book, but they are kind of...Read full review »

If you don't like football, have no fear!!! The Football Book Club is comedy gold and fun listening for anyone with a sense of humour or slight interest in the lives of our most revered sporting heros... I would recommend this podcast to anyone. All of the comedians have great chemistry and it is literally laugh a minute! You don’t even have to be into football to enjoy it, as the comedians skilfully use references outside of football to make this light hearted and easy listening podcast...Read full review »

Really a winning formula. High end laughter debate meets naff forgotten footballers awkward memoirs.

I enjoy learning more about the lives of obscure footballers so it’s nice someone has done a podcast that does just that with humour added in.

A great tongue-in-cheek look at the autobiographies of obscure footballing cult heroes. All in good fun, sharing the best and most hilarious anecdotes from players you'll remember from years gone by. Often find myself chuckling loudly at this. Great stuff!Read full review »

A great unique premise, nicely structured, with great panellists! Even if you’re not interested in football, this is a great way to dip into the minds of the game’s entertainingly eccentric players. Worth a try for anyone who wants a giggle!

As funny as it is culturally necessary. Recommended listening for fans of Guardian Football Weekly, Athletico Mince and Serial (just in case it turn out one of the players has done a murder.)

A triumphant look at footballers of past and present. Very much looking forward to future podcasts where I can be nostalgic at footballers of yesteryear and the stories of footballers that made me love the game today. James Bugg’s latest comedic instalment is only going to further increase the...Read full review »
