Potential
This podcast has potential. Sometimes it’s a bit shallow and doesn’t go deep enough into the lives of the players they are talking about. One of their own complaints is that the footballers never mention what year it is/how old they are during any chapter of their book, but they are kind of guilty of a similar sin. They don’t offer much surrounding information/detail/flavour about the subjects. It’s a bit of a wasted opportunity. And my god do they need to stop having the footballers themselves on as guests. Those episodes are so pointless to listen to. They just hush over them and laugh at every inane joke. They tore into Louis Saha’s book when they read it for its rampant misogyny; but if he’d been there they’d have just laughed it off or ignored it. They are not capable of reviewing these books honestly when the authors are present, which makes for a really dull podcast. That aside, it is often very funny. I do like this podcast and it’s a cracking idea. Just needs a little more effort and less footballing guests.

I have just binged 5 eps in one day. It’s so cheerful, interesting and funny.

You had me at ‘Less Emily Bronte, more Antonio Conte’. Very good podcast and well worth the listen, especially for all the random Norwich player chants!
