Cringe
I have had many belly laughs over the years but I just struggle with Emily’s sycophantic laughter and ‘I want to keep my job’ Frank-worship. Sometimes Frank isn’t funny or something hasn’t worked but the loyal hound Emily howls with forced laughter that makes me cringe. Why does she have to talk about occasions that she and Frank have attended but not Alun, that’s just unkind but also uninteresting. She used to bang on about her ‘Benz’, we don’t care Em, now it’s her so called luxurious lifestyle, is she aware of her audience, that she’s alienating? I’m doing well but I know many of my friends are not, I’m therefore very careful about what I say. Emily needs to apply a filter, bragging about what you may have, to those who probably don’t, suggests you really don’t know your listener. She’s also on occasion causing embarrassment to Alun. He may well be frugal with his money but stop making jibes at his expense. There have been times where you can sense his discomfort. The show promotes the no praise rule yet Emily continues to read it out and Frank, in recent times, doesn’t stop her. I’ve transitioned over to Jason Manford and the razor sharp co host Steve Edge. There’s a reason Frank makes reference to Jasons award winning show, ‘all’ contributors are funny not just the host.

More reviews of The Frank Skinner Show
This will be 100 times much better if Frank was paired up with witty co-presenters. Emily and Gareth make this podcast the last one I listen to when I have listened to all others I subscribe to.

I'm so surprised by the amount of people who don't love gareth and emily. Their mix of personalities make the show great! I'm so happy about the not the weekend podcast too! This podcast actually has me crying with laughter. It's pretty embarrasing on the train.
