Indigenous queerhood & an interview with Kyle's family
Listen now
Description
All the girls stepping out for a family affair! This week we’re joined by Kyle's mother Patrizia and brother Tyronne to spill the tea about Kyle's wild teenage ways, Patrizia’s youth spent tearing up the gay clubs, and what it’s like living with a queer sibling. A huge kiss to Patrizia and Ty for coming in! We’re also joined by William Trewlynn, founder of BlaQ, a not-for-profit initiative for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQ+ community. He chats to us about wildly disproportionate incarceration rates for Indigenous people, a huge lack of data on issues relating to Indigenous members of the LGBT+ community, and unconscious bias in the police force.  Support BlaQ at blaq.org.au. In this week’s After Show Patrizia and Ty stick around for a game of ‘which gay son’!
