The Good Fight The Good Fight

- Religion & Spirituality
Hosted by Phil D'Aprile and Rafael Sumodisastro, ‘The Good Fight’ explores the everyday questions of faith that all Christians face from the perspective of young adult believers who don't claim to have all the answers.
We started this podcast for the people we know and love, to talk about the things that are real to us and our context. But this is also for others out there who are just trying their best to follow Jesus. Join our conversations as we explore and stumble along this journey called the Christian life and together find out how to fight The Good Fight.

In this episode, Rafa and Phil are joined by their friend and fellow church member Eizer, to discuss the trends around expensive clothing and footwear amongst some insta-famous Pastors and Christian figures. They chat about their own experiences with expensive items and whether or not style can be an obstacle to the substance of the gospel.

Imposters, Liars, Pretenders.
In this first full length episode Rafa and Phil are joined by two fellow members of Oikos Church, Denise and Steph, to discuss how many Christians, especially younger believers, feel that there is a standard they need to attain, and their inability to reach that standard means that feel they are frauds. In this discussion we talk about how the Gospel should help us to know that God has called us knowing full well our inability to be perfect. The truth of God's forgiveness and having a new identity firmly grounded in the fact that we are God's children, covered by the work of Jesus, should lead us all the more to walk in the work He has prepared for us, despite our imperfections, knowing that to be a Christian doesn't mean perfection, it means reliance on the One who is perfect!
This episode was recorded during a church retreat so you may hear coffee machines, peacocks, dogs and (if you were there) yourself in the background. Despite the audio quality not being perfect, we wanted to share this episode as is because here at The Good Fight we don't claim to have it all together, we're just trying to do our best!
