Intriguing main plot, but the stories inside are mostly lame
I'm surprised this podcast has such a high rank. Started this one not so long ago. There were 3 full seasons at the time. I've quite enjoyed the whole idea of the rooms and a trapped person. But there's a big unpleasant "but" after all. ***SPOILER ALERT*** (though i'll try to keep it not too detailed to really spoil anything) Apart from "I loved my human" which was disturbingly horrific anf pityfull right untill the revenge part, and a couple other stories, the most mass of them are just nothing. Either not really scary, or not well written, or not really having a compelling plot, or just have characters a that are not to be loved, so you really don't care if they die or find themselves in some horror-movie situation. And yes, a lot of them are so much inspired by movies, books and pastas of the past, that you can really tell at least half of them are almost a plagiarism. Just a little too close to the origin be "inspired by" rather than ripping off the plot. Some stories are quite good and interesting thugh. Some are good, but not really a horror stories or punishing ones, just interesting stuff, I would probably watch as a movie or listen as a separate podcast about those specific sircumstances. The season 2 protagonist is awful. MORE SPOILERS. She kills a charismatic character in cold blood like a maniac in the PRE-season episodes and after all we find out she was even worse - torturing him and feeling herself "a God". Do you really think this is the one to be worried for? I'm no maniac but every time that ma'am woke up in the elevator crying or gasping for air or releafing from whatever was her death beforehand, my only thought was: "she had it coming". Let me be clear, the portagonist of the first season os no better that the second. The story however if written in a way that you find yourself longing for that man to get free right before you find out his sins, and by that time you still hope he can fix it all in some magic way. Not really beleaving in it, but the story is quite well done there. Plotted in a good manner, if you like. The second season is mostly a torture ride for a horrible person who obviously deserves it all. I'm currently in the middle of the third season. And i recently found myself fastforwarding the "room" part, just paying actual attention to the intermedia parts where the protagonist guesse what the hell is going on. That is the most interesting part so far. thoug i can aggree with one of the comments here that it starts to feels like "Lost" - not sure if the authors will be able to pull it off in a surprising and interesting manner that would be fitting the mystery unfolding for three seasons so far. As a resume, i would say this podcast is not awful, but not a particularly good one either. Would be liked by you if you're into horror stuff but haven't seen or read or heard a lot beforehand, cause otherwise it juct crosspasses a lot of stuff you already know and not in a pleasant way.Read full review »

I love this podcast! The acting, sound design, and music are excellent. The settings and overarching narratives are gripping, and the variety of stories is tremendous. I absolutely recommend this podcast to anyone looking for more horror fiction in their lives!
