Pretty good info, but lifts passages from others
This is a decently done history of Greece. Pronounciation of the Greek is good, sounds like what I used to hear from my Classics professors. But the pronounciation and pacing of the Egnlish is weird. It's just a stilted, sometimes difficult reading to listen to. Also, after hearing some odd turns of phrase read kind of unusually, my plagarism-dar (play-dar?) was tweaked into running through Google. A bunch of sentences in that particular episode showed hits from a website, lifted more or less verbatim. I found the same in the most recent episode in the first few minutes. I don't feel like digging any more into this -- what's the point? -- but it's pretty disturbing to me to see intellectual theft, however minor it may seem. I can't listen anymore knowing he's reading others' words without credit.Read full review »
