Gripping and sardonic
This is the best history podcast I've ever listened to. Mike Duncan has created a history podcast that is fascinating and compelling. He also draws parallels between events in Roman History and events in more recent history that are better known to the modern listener. Drawing in findings from archaelogical evidence as well, The History of Rome is a good well-rounded retelling of Rome's history. My only quibble is that it focusses(at least so far) too much on Rome's military history. It would be interesting to hear more about Roman culture and politics.Read full review »

I am really enjoying this podcast. I have recently gotten really interested in Roman history and I like the amount of detail used in this cast. There is plenty of detail to keep it interesting but not too much to bog you down. I suggest it for anyone interested in the topic!

Goed geluid en niet te algemeen van aard.

Fantastic find and definitely recommended. Each episode is brief enough to take in yet packed with information. Mr Duncan's done a top job so far and I'm looking forward to many more episodes. Well done that man.Read full review »
