The achievements of Rajarajah I who expanded the Chola empire through numerous conquests are brought to life in this fascinating history podcast. Rajarajah, known as the Great, conquered large parts of South India and Sri Lanka during his nearly three decade reign from 985 to 1014 CE, securing the Cholas position as the foremost power in India at the time. He not only excelled as a military leader,but also carried out major land surveys and administrative reforms to strengthen central rule. His patronage of art and architecture also produced masterpieces like the Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur.

Frankly I have been overwhelmed by the response to the Podcast series. So, we return for a new season, with better stories, better audio and better equipment. In this season we will cover the history of the Mighty Cholas, Their origins, their rise, their fall, their resurgence and extinction. We will also look at their naval strength and conquests.
