An Excellent Primer
Jack’s lucid presentation masks an exceptional amount of work preparing for each episode of this remarkable podcast series. Listening to him speak I imagine his home stuffed with dog-eared volumes he has read and annotated over the years preparing for this grand production. His direct “just the facts” approach to presenting the material lacks the dramatization found in some popular history podcasts, but that is its strength as it helps ensure a balanced presentation of our nation’s story - as Jack says, “Without presentism”. The episodes are generally short making them wonderful accompaniment for commuting or morning walks and exercise. I am most thankful for Jack’s labor of love.

I’ve listened to every episode, and some of them multiple times. Jack does a tremendous job telling the story. He has also succeeded in making me a big Francis Drake fan. Enthusiastically recommended.
