    So, to share a little about these awards, they are being held in London in May and they are being presented by Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York! And there are some incredible speakers at the event, including:

    Guest Speaker and Dr Tererai Trent who was named Oprah’s fave guest of all time. She is an author and along with Oprah helped to build primary schools and enhance education opportunities to create a pathway out of poverty for these children. Then there is the awards ceremony and a Gala Dinner to follow!

    And the biggest news is I am actually flying overseas to attend the event!

    Looking after babies and toddlers is EXHAUSTING! And it is definitely the way that we prioritize them (as we should) but we so often let our wellbeing drop to the bottom of the pile of things to do in our busy lives.

    Supporting our nutrition is one of the biggest areas which we as parents dont support ourselves. Yet, it is crucial that we do prioritize ourselves and eat well so we as mothers
    1) have the energy to feed our babies
    2) energy to play with our children
    3) do all the things in the home and for our children that we are required and want to do!

    Ellen is a qualified Naturopath, living on the Sunshine Coast in QLD and running an online clinic offering personalised support to women with hormonal issues and couples wanting to fall pregnant through 1 on 1 consultations and comprehensive online courses.

    Ellen and I had the most informative and honest chat about her work around fertility in what she calls the “middle bit”, the area between trying for a baby without success and heading to the mind field that is IVF. There are SO many areas within the male and female physiology that can be addressed Naturopathically for improvement to sperm and egg quality which can then lead to successful conception. We talk about the difference between the medical mainstream fertility testing vs the vast array of integrative testing Naturopaths can do for a couple who is trying to conceive and the elements of our health that may be contributing to this issue.

    We also talked about the notion of not just getting pregnant but how important it is to conceive a healthy baby, hold it to term and have a positive birth experience.

    This is a very informative conversation and at times emotional as we talk about the difficulty of getting pregnant and how difficult it can be for some couples.

    After listening to this podcast episode, you will have a new insight to your fertility and feel empowered to understand how much you can do to support yourself and your partner to conceive without necessarily going down the path of IVF (or to support the process of IVF).
