Most of the episodes concern healthcare in some way or another, making the human element of the reporting extra important. Like This American Life, The Impact shows how human experience, expert policy formulation, and realpolitik can interact to produce extraordinary benefits, or costly mistakes. It’s fascinating to see how policy problems can just as easily result from human error as from malice, greed, or ideology. I listened to the whole of series one in a day and I can’t wait for series two.”
