Dr. Kumkum Srivastava holds a doctorate in anthropology and has published a lot on historical anthropology. She was drawn towards Sufism and the Islamic Culture, that became a part of her life. She nurtured her interest through her studies in history and anthropology, taking her quest a step further, and translating it in to her book on “The Wandering Sufis”. She also organizes heritage walks in Delhi and shares her passion with the next generation, giving them a glimpse of the history that is a living tradition in the by lanes of Purani Dilli, which is on the verge of getting lost in this widely changing globalised world. She also taught history as an associate professor at Jankidevi Memorial College of University of Delhi. Currently she is working on the anthropology of mental illness and healing.
