Description
Electric vehicles are hailed as the transportation of the future, yet battery technology remains primitive. Jacki points out that even the newest, “fast charge” stations require a half-hour of charge time. Most charging stations require hours. Cross-country travel remains out of range for most electric vehicle owners.   Jacki also shines a light on why we need more truth-in-advertising for “environmental, social, and [corporate] governance” investments (“ESG”).   Then, Jacki talks with Kirk Edwards, President and CEO of Latigo Petroleum, about the Permian Fuels America campaign to pressure Gulf Coast refiners into an “America First” policy, preferencing U.S. oil over foreign oil.    Plus, Jacki welcomes Katie Tahuahua with the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Life:Powered initiative, to discuss the Biden administration’s ongoing flouting of the law to reverse Trump-era environmental policies without going through the proper legal processes.   Finally, Jacki talks with Jason Isaac, director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Life:Powered initiative, who explains why reversing the Trump administration’s policies, particularly on methane, will not meaningfully improve our environment. Methane is a greenhouse gas, but not a pollutant. Regardless, the U.S. is already a world leader in clean air and water.
