Teacher gifts
I understand the sentiment behind your teacher gift comments but you’ve missed a key point - as public servants we shouldn’t be accepting large gifts as we need to manage the public expectations of integrity, accountability, independence, transparency and professionalism in relation to gifts and benefits. We get paid a salary via tax payers and that should be enough. A small personal thank you is usually all teachers want at the end of a year.
