Ep #141 how to keep your customers warm this winter a #JustBloodyPostIt Note

Ep #141 how to keep your customers warm this winter a #JustBloodyPostIt Note

In today's short sweet solo episode, we talk about how to juggle your own busy festive schedule (holy heck, every year with the busyness) with the maintaining warm, engaging connections with your customers.

It's a season filled to the brim with demands on our attention (I'm wrapping up my last workshop of the year this week and debating the necessity of a December 22nd newsletter). But also a golden opportunity to nurture customer relationships through storytelling and sharing personal insights from our business world.

We'll explore why slowing down and sharing authentic stories can be a powerful strategy to stand out in a crowded inbox. Hope you enjoy the listen.

Podcast pairing: catch up with this peaceful, inspiring chat with landscape architect Marian Boswall from earlier in season 7: https://audioboom.com/posts/8400336-ep-136-taking-the-outside-online-with-landscape-architect-marian-boswall

Ep #140 My top 5 mistakes of the year a #JustBloodyPostIt note

Listen to hear the five things I might have or should have but didn't do differently in my business this year.

I love getting this stuff off my chest. Because nothing goes right without things going wrong. We make new mistakes every year, it's just part of the fun of running your own thing.

This is the first in a week of post it note specials I've recorded to round up season 7 of the show.

Ep #139 LinkedIn: the best social platform for winning work and influencing people with Gus Bhandal

Ep #139 LinkedIn: the best social platform for winning work and influencing people with Gus Bhandal

This time, we're diving into the world of LinkedIn with the UK's number one LinkedIn trainer (according to his mum 😉) Gus Bhandal.  Is it just a corporate bore-fest, or a valuable platform (maybe the most valuable) for networking, winning work and connecting with interesting like-minded people?

Gus is a marketing strategist whose career's taken him from the corporate car trade to pub landlord to agency founder.

Now, as a mentor, speaker and social media expert he's helping small and large businesses thrive online.

    We talk about,

    whether to bother with Threads

the best (and worst) ways to do small business marketing
the secrets of giving great LinkedIn

why there's such an opportunity to stand out there
how to get public speaking gigs (and how to lose pitches!)
    and roast potatoes

Don't forget to subscribe wherever you listen so you won't miss an episode!

RenaDiana ,

Excellent Conversation!

I have always enjoyed the upbeat, candid and down-to-earth tone of your podcasts, Helen. Especially helpful to a rather reluctant marketer like me (but I am gaining confidence and enthusiasm in that area!) Today’s conversation with Alice Sheridan and Jo McCarthy, both of whom I have worked with in groups and one-on-one, really hit the mark. A broad view of the realties of Instagram and a long view on how we grow in our business, among other topics. I particularly like the idea that both Alice and Jo discussed about offering small spaces, more intimate gatherings, to
share ideas comfortably and “get real”. Thank you for hosting this, Helen!

Candid. Funny. Makes email marketing fun.

I have been listening to Helen for a few months and have always found everything super informative and fun to listen to which makes me more attentive to what she talks about. There are soooo many "experts" filling your inbox with crap and that is why I have limited myself to two experts, Helen being one of them. Thanks for keeping this email marketing fun. Because I really do enjoy it now. Sherry B @soultreeapparel

Excellent! Can’t wait for the next episode!

I just listened to the first episode of this podcast and enjoyed every minute! Interesting content, well-paced and fun! It was as if I was having lunch with a couple good friends. Fascinating to hear Caroline’s story and Helen asked great questions. Also several themes emerged that resonated with me. Looking forward to the next episode!
