Loved this podcast so much!

All the repeated information could of been condensed into 1 episode. Such a sad story. 7 hours of listening to very similar details. A little frustrating.

I was really looking forward to this podcast. But found it infuriating. In regard to Theo’s intoxication levels, you take the word of a Belgian backpacker - who had by his own account been drinking all afternoon; over the professional opinion of a sober man - who’s profession it is to judge a...Read full review »

I really enjoyed this podcast and so wish there was a happy ending 😢 I hope a memory is jolted or a conscience pricked as a result of this, and more information comes to light. Thinking of Theo’s family and friends.

I listened to all 6 episodes in one day, this is an amazing podcast. I really hope this helps bring attention to his case, the Hayez family deserves answers. I met Theo during my travels in Aus, he was kind, and incredibly mature for his age. My heart goes out to Theo and his family.

Beautifully presented. From this podcast you gain a real sense of actually being there but of course you’re not and having the frustration of not being able to go out and help search for this young man........

I put doing other things on hold just so I could listen to this podcast right till the end. The story was so thrilling even though I knew that at the end of it, Theo would still be missing. Goes into such interesting detail about Byron Bay, the volunteers, the family and the technology. It leaves...Read full review »

I have listened to this intriguing podcast so many times now. It’s so, so good.

Would’ve be good to actually be able to see all the information on the website ie location maps etc without having to pay a subscription fee. Hope you continue to work with the family to get Theo’s story out there and found. I’d suggest taking the paywall down.

Excellent details, compelling natural narration, beautifully sensitive to dear deeply loved, lost boy. The dedicated locals and their anecdotes and theories were a well justified inclusion as were clever compassionate police-work,and insight into police station life as well. The illumination for...Read full review »

Brilliant very interesting a must listen

Strictly speaking as a podcast I found this very slow and repetitive as there is minimal evidence but so so many questions. On the other hand I enjoyed hearing about how the family began to retrace Theo’s steps the night he went missing. Not as gripping as the last 2 Australian podcasts but it...Read full review »

Unfortunately I found this too boring to continue. I really wanted to like it - the story needs telling but it also needs to be engaging and this is far too drawn out with too much unnecessary info and input from very random people
OZMAD via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 02/07/20
The interviews with the local eccentrics took long and served no purpose other than to fill airtime. It’s ok to touch on the local color but you went way beyond especially the smudge party nutter.

Wow! Just blown away by the attention to detail and dedication of the team to bring Théo’s story into the forefront. You get the sense that the guys on the team are just as determined to find answers, as the family, and it’s enthralling. Super glad to hear from the family, friends and all those...Read full review »

Could have covered material in three episode. Many irrelevant interviews. People constantly repeating the same material. Endless boring information about a google map which never ends

Very interesting and sad post cast however sometimes it went off track. There wasn’t any new information in the last few episodes. I hope they find out what happened.

Wow this really leaves you with many more questions- I hope the family get some answers
emmsm via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 01/12/20
The first couple of episodes are interesting but then it goes way off track, revisiting already discussed details and “relevant” stories that you would have to draw a pretty long bow to say are connected. Also, for the amount of content you get in an episode, an hour is veeerrryy drawn out. You...Read full review »

I thought this was riveting as the podcaster took us along on the journey of exploring every possible scenario. I was fascinated to learn they could follow along his path and know when he was walking and when he was running. At the outset, we’re told that the podcast is an attempt to garner as...Read full review »

When a case has revealed little clues in more than half a year, there isn’t a whole lot to talk about so it feels at times like they’re just filling space and it could have been half as many episodes. As an American, it’s a little hard to understand sometimes. I’m always amazed at the radically...Read full review »

Very sad/fascinating story, I feel for everyone related to Theo. The podcast was alright but not particularly gripping, I feel like they needed to fill a lot of space by talking about the Byron Bay community etc etc etc. I found the whole google tracking element very interesting. This is very sad. Could only get through two episodes as 90% of the content is just clearly trying to fill the hour and is not useful or compelling information.

Very informative and easy to listen to , only down side was the narration, frequently repeating him self which makes it hard to keep up.

Shame on the people dissing the direction or narration of the podcast. It is informative and not meant to be persuasive. So the withdrawal of emotive expression oddly is what makes it particularly moving to me. I was close to the missing Dan case via association. It was heart breaking then, and...Read full review »

Listening to this, I was hopeful. Hopeful for resolution, for clarity, for answers. Instead the journalist narrates a dull, self indulgent tale of frequently irrelevant or repetitive tales. This poor family. Your podcast may have helped them be heard but you helped nothing else. I still...Read full review »

A very interesting unsolved missing person podcast, well told and well produced. The police seemed to be a few steps behind the family and outstanding team of volunteer searchers and investigators but the coroner may provide reasons for that. Of all the podcasts I’ve listened to over the years,...Read full review »

Great story and great reporting. It makes me so happy that all these people who didn’t know Théo, they’re there to help find him. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼 I wonder if his friends that he meat the first nite, know more than what they tell?

A story worth telling and the podcast starts really well. Unfortunately the last few episodes feel like they are struggling to fill an hour and contain way too much irrelevant and frankly boring information. Where is Théo? After listening to his story, you will want to know. A perfectly written, narrated account of events that gives us a feeling of time & the wildness of Byron Bay and haunts us with the query, Theo where are you? A mystery that began in 2019 and is still very much alive.
Moonlitvioletta via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/18/19
Very intriguing and interesting however journalists should steer clear of all the ‘theories’ of locals who seem to be revelling in their five minutes of fame. I think this is nothing more than youthful adventure and he most likely fell into the sea. No more mysterious than that. I think...Read full review »

I haven’t actually listened to the lighthouse series but, just wanted it out there that I thought I saw a Theo a few months back on the Gold Coast. This podcast started off strong but has gone in the wrong direction IMO. My main issue is that it seems to not know what it wants to be: a podcast about a missing person or an exposé about the plight of the homeless and less fortunate in Byron bay and the surrounding areas.
