Brilliant Insight into Antiquity and Modernity
Ever wonder how ancient people of the biblical world thought in comparison to how we think now? I have not come across a resource better at answering that question (and many more) than this podcast. Fr. Stephen’s knowledge of the ancient world is as deep as any I’ve ever heard. For those familiar with Dr. Michael Heiser, this will cover some similar ground, but with two caveats: one, it goes far deeper than Heiser’s work, both historically and theologically, and two, it’s more fun, as Fr. Andrew and Fr. Stephen add a decent amount of lightheardedness to the serious topics at hand. It should offer serious correctives to the normative thought in modern Christianity, if one allows it to do so. Although there are plenty of jokes on the show, the material presented offers many points for individuals to question a great deal about what they’ve been taught up until now. Tune in for a few episodes and you’ll never look at Christianity the same.

Really informative, fun, and helps to orient us towards God. I feel like I come away from every podcast with such a stronger understanding of my orthodox faith.

Listened to the BP for years after receiving the Spirit and got a lot out of it. But THIS bad boy is everything the BP puts out but deeply plugged into the traditions that live it all out. I was raised Methodist, went Anglican, and have been considering crossing the Tiber, but this podcast has...Read full review »
