More than a Revelation
This podcast was shared with me just before Christmas of ‘21 at the time Fathers were exploring the Christology of the Old Testament. Easter of ‘22 is behind me now and I have have gone back and listened to every 2-1/2 hour episode they made. I am in awe. How did I live a Christian life all these years and not see these realities in the scriptures and the liturgy? How have I never heard this teaching? How did the dots never connect? How did Fathers manage to keep their “clean” rating after the 2021 Halloween special?! When I listen to the Lord of Spirits, there is a surprise, then a pull, and suddenly everything lines up. It’s like chiropractic for the soul. We learn a lot of silly things about what God’s story means along the way from a lot of sources and deep down we know they’re silly or “off” and maybe that’s why we go through life with squint-eyed skepticism. What Father Stephen and Father Andrew describe is different. It animates me. When they lift the veil and reveal the Lord of Spirits, I recognize Him, and I cry out Alleluia!
