I find horror podcasts very hit and miss. Most of them can feel very cheesy and over the top. The Magnus Archives greatest feature for me is that it's willing to be understated and let the story speak for itself and not let sound effects and "creepy noises" do the work. The individual stories are spooky and interesting and the over-arcing story which is beginning to emerge adds another layer of creepy.
