“28M with a proud history of riding with the Washed Media crew. However, there’s been accumulating takes that signal (to me) that these podcast hosts have outdated views on gender and relationships, topics that they cover on every episode. A couple baffling examples: per these hosts, golf is for guys, so ladies don’t really have a hobby they can participate in. What? Women have been playing golf for hundreds of years, and there is a thriving contingent of young female golfers. Another was the coverage of Valentine’s Day...the hosts implied that women are disingenuous when they say not to get them anything for V Day, and that a man must therefore get something to avoid the proverbial doghouse. Y’all...it’s 2021. It’s OK not to take this made up holiday that seriously (especially if your partner says it isn’t important to them). There’s a lot more cringe, and I get these hosts (likely) espouse more conservative/traditional views on gender and relationships (my assumption, not anything they’ve ever stated), but this makes it really hard for me to relate to their content.”
