Think
In the beginning, it is funny. The words are harsh, but it is funny. People bring their problems, and the way they talk is funny. They make fun of your problem. It is a joke, don’t over spiritualize it, they say. He quotes the Bible after all. There is no hope for you, if you did that, he says. Suddenly, the jokes are not so funny, but they keep laughing…at you. Eventually, you realize that Mark’s teaching are not about God's grace or mercy. God’s grace is gone. You became like the older brother from the parable of the Prodigal God: Lost and away from the love of God, through religion and a moral code. Listen carefully what he says: "I don’t care about your feelings”; "whati say here, I would not say in front of you". This is very strange (why do you have 2 behaviors? is this a hypocrisy?) He says that judging is wrong when you reach to a conclusion without all the facts. How can you judge your listeners based on their E-mail? You rant most of the time, humiliate most of the audience calling psycho, stupid, moron, creepy, but then he preaches: ”Be nice to people”. When you are going to stop quoting bad science and evidences to fit your profile? Nevertheless, you suggest that we should use our brain, to search the answers. I did, and I quit listen to your show. Your sermons are becoming more and more about being a modern pharisee. A christian would be known for the love you have to each other. You do not live it anymore. Evidence for that? "If a police officer stops you, I will do what he says, The man has a gun!" Think about it. Isn't that a pharisee attitude? We should respect authority and understand that it comes from God. Obeying him is obeying God, it is a way to love God. But when you do the same thing, because of the gun, you are doing for the wrong reason. This is constant in Mark’s comments. Do the right thing, but for the wrong reason; like the older brother, who did everything right, but did not love the father, he did not love God. He was away and lost through religion and strict moral code. The final question: do you really believe that doing the right thing is going to save you from hell? who is your savior? Jesus, or your attitudes? Dear pastor, not mine, Mark. Review your point of view.
