A “nuanced” Zionist troll
Although his martyr made series has an air of being extremely well researched and “nuanced” , all it does in the final analysis is present a giant false equivalence between a ppl dispossessed and the dispossessors. Whom he romanticizes as some sort of epic national revival movement that just so happened to tragically clash with the Palestinians, who just happened to be in the wrong place and the wrong time. He also likes to frame the conflict as some sort of “solution” for European prosecution of Jews, naming his final episode “Never again”, how dramatic and disingenuous! All his sources are exclusively “mainstream” western sources, he doesn’t use any Arab sources such as Edward Said or Asaad abu Khalil, as if the narrative has to be dictated by western and Israel talking heads. While his podcasts can be information dense, it tends to go on random unnecessary tangents , e.g. how the Palestinian elite are somehow at fault for the mass purchase of Palestinian land by the JNF and the JA. Or the heroic Homerian exploits of some random zionist settler called Jospeh Trumpuldore. Its hard to tell what he really thinks he is doing with that series, is he telling objective scholarly history? Nope. Is he telling an Israeli narrative? Nope. A Palestinian narrative? Nope. Is he in-between ? Nope. The best I can describe it, is that its historical entertainment, using dramatic story telling as a medium. I lost interest after 3 episodes. A few years later, I checked again to see if he’s active. And boy , turns out he’s teaming with that roid head Jock Willinck telling stories that glorifies violence and military adventurism as some from of male bonding and authentic human experience.
