Interesting story. Not sure it’s worth the hype?
Although the story is undoubtably an interesting and tenaciously reported, BBC Sounds stumbled over its toes when it came to the production elements of this podcast. The music was very distracting and so so repetitive. Stock clips from One Coin promotional materials were overused throughout the pod - packing peanuts to puff out episodes to reach the play time. Also made me wonder, was this story best suited for audio? BBC Sounds needs to learn the beauty of dead air in podcasting. It’s like choreography, the lack of something can be very effective. The script often felt forced and the reporter sometimes made themselves too much a part of the story, which wasn’t needed in a piece like this. Looking forward to actually hearing episode 10? Not sure why it was promoted but never created?

More reviews of The Missing Cryptoqueen
I heard about this from another podcast (Fortunately with Fi and Jane, also a good listen) and binged the first 3 eps. I’m now listening weekly and reminds me of the anticipation I had waiting for the next ep of Serial to drop. Can’t recommend this highly enough for any podcast fan!

Although I was following bitcoin, so many illogical factors gave me red flags about the scheme. My point is I was added to a WhatsApp...Read full review »
