This podcast is lovely! It’s an anthology that starts to have an overall plot. The characters always have me invested no matter how fantastical the story is! I love this podcast♥️

I am usually too lazy to write reviews, but the episode titled Descending forced my hand. The end is FANTASTIC because I was so sucked into the first exhibit! I can’t say anything without spilling, but if you love weird that spans from funny to dark you have to check out this show

this podcast is such an indescribable joy to listen to. the premise and worldbuilding feel so solid it’s impossible not to get sucked in, the writing is consistently stellar even while the podcast changes and develops across the seasons in such fascinating ways, and the voice acting for the main...Read full review »

This show has just wrapped up its fifth season and each season is better than before. I love how the show promises to be a surreal anthology podcast but then develops into a richly woven tapestry of plot and character development. The addition of new voices in later seasons makes the world seem...Read full review »

This podcast has such a compelling concept that it executes beautifully. The audio tour guide is quickly becoming my favorite podcast protagonist as I absolutely adore their character development. The story goes in places you definitely won’t expect at first but all the plot twists are very well...Read full review »

The theme is wonderful. I love the side stories. I’m thrown off by the constant use of “they” not sure if it’s a gender neutral thing or a native language habit. But it is confusing who he is referencing. Especially when the narrator has made it clear the character is female or male and the...Read full review »

This is a fantastic podcast of weird/spooky stories and an intriguing meta-narrative.

I sometimes think the golden age of audio dramas has already occurred. Ars Paradoxica, early Tanis, The Magnus Archives etc. all came out years ago and since then I haven’t heard many truly great episodic podcasts. This is an exception. Truly incredible.

This show has such an interesting premise. The small stories within each episode are mysterious and spooky, sometimes sad and sometimes hopeful. I love the narrator too! The overarching plot is introduced in a super cool way. This podcast is so engaging and an absolute treat to listen to.

No seriously I listened to all of what is currently out in 2 days. This podcast is wonderful, I’m so dearly attached to the tour guide and the way it weaves in small details throughout the story that directly lead to many of the twists, reveals, and culminations is wonderful. An anthology supernatural show, with the framing device of listening to an audio tour guide in a museum telling a story about/surrounding an object (1-3 per episode). A few of the stories are interconnected and a larger plot builds in the second season. The supernatural stories are mostly horror...Read full review »

I learned of this podcast thanks to the 2021 Audioverse Awards and I'm glad I did. I like the premise, that each episode is told to a visitor to the Mistholme Museum by an audio tour guide (voiced by show author Dom Guilfoyle) as the visitor approaches various "alternatural"...Read full review »

I think most reviews mention this, but Mistholme Museum gives strong Magnus Archives vibes. Very creepy and tightly produced. I love the concept and the writing. Very nice!

A perfect blend of “monster of the week” and overarching plot I can’t say enough good things about this podcast. The museum feels like the sort of place you’re not sure if you want to visit or not but if you go the guide is definitely a friend you want to have with you!

Please do not judge this podcast by the first 2 or 3 episodes - they aren’t bad, but the later episodes get so much better. Witty, interesting and creative writing match Dom’s (our tour guide) narration with entertaining results. Can’t wait for the next episode!

This show needs more love. The stories are atmospheric and bring forth a wide range of emotions. Heartwarming, heartbreaking, terrifying, etc. The stories often play on traditional myths and legends in new ways, often in ways that show genuine compassion for the weird or outcast. Whatever you /think/ you know about what’s going on in the mistholme museum? You’re wrong. The twists and turns are fantastic, and the wider story really picks up in season 2. I came here for the weird fiction, stayed for the audio tour guide, and I have no regrets about it.

This show is amazing. It’s on overarching story told through an anthology type setting against the back drop of a collection of supernatural items. Love the narration and the stories behind the exhibits. Starts off anthology like, but the plot picks up in season 2. If you’re a fan of WTNV or TMA then you definitely enjoy this podcast too!

The first two episodes are by far the weakest, which is unfortunate. But the show then rapidly builds itself into something really cool. Clever stories, good narrative arc, relaxing voice. Would highly recommend to Magnus Archive fans.

This is good anthology podcast with an overarching plot. The stories USUALLY don’t tie in with the plot, but regardless they’re really cute, fun, and creative stories. The speaker really put his voice to good use. He’s very soothing to listen to. Looking forward to where this keeps going!

I recently discovered The Mistholme Museum when it was recommended to fans of the Magnus Archives. Mistholme is a fantastic podcast! I was first asked to try listening to Mistholme earlier this fall by a friend with similar interests to my own in the realm of audio drama podcasts, horror, fantasy, and the emerging genre of weird fiction.
