Marriage obsessed
The stories are... fine (just about- all bar one seem pretty run of the mill) but the whole podcast and the host seem OBSESSED with marriage. I find it bizarre. It seems like every episode at the 3/4 mark the host says “but she didn’t want to let him move in unless it was going to lead to MARRIAGE”. Was this really made this decade? Because of this the stories get really repetitive (couple meets, has fun, has issues - but perseveres and the gal GETS THAT RING! Yay!) and one of them, where an guy courts a woman named Michele, is frankly cringey, as he purringly describes their first kiss in true Mills & Boon detail- soooo cheesy. Is this what we’re meant to aspire to? In 2019? The host even reveals she threw a wobbly cos she thought her guy would never pop the question. This podcast is not advancing the sisterhood’s cause, guys. Add that to the endless overly chirpy ads that wondery pile in and it’s an unsubscribe from me.

I listen to lots of podcasts about current events, but this one is different. It made me smile and feel good! Can’t wait for more!
