Money with Katie is Now a Train Wreck of a Podcast

“The Money with Katie Show has really turned to sh!t over the last couple of months -- especially since its acquisition by Morning Brew (although I'm not sure whether the two are related or not). Katie used to have great personal finance content, speaking about interesting topics such as whether investing in a traditional 401k or roth 401k was better (and not shying away from the math to prove her conclusions). She was, as the blurb regarding her podcast currently states, focused on sharing spending habits, smart investing, and tax strategies. However, that all changed in the recent months, in which Katie seems to have gone totally "woke" with her content and deviated so far from her original focus. For example, today's episode of the podcast talked about the victim vs. victor mindset, and how choosing to view oneself as a victim can be detrimental to success (even if the person in question has actually been victimized by society at some point). I could hardly stand to listen when she began ranting about how capitalism necessarily has certain negative consequences for entire races (this is a classic line from critical race theory, which ironically is entirely based on viewing oneself as a "forever" victim). Maybe Katie is trying to find her niche and stay relevant to Morning Brew's portfolio of business acquisitions -- I can't really say for sure. All I can say is that her content is entirely lacking and no longer provides anyone with valuable personal finance advice - she's become a talking head for progressive ideologies that barely touch on the *fringes* of personal finance. Over the months I've since dropped her from my Instagram feed, then unsubscribed from her weekly newsletter, and finally am dropping her podcast as well. Good riddance! Women – join me in finding good personal finance content from other female creators that actually have important and meaningful things to say!”Read full review »

“Unlike many finance or $ podcasts you don’t have to start at the very first episode to have any background. So even if you know nothing about money, you can pick one and you will still learn something! I also love how relatable Katie is and how well she loops her personal stories into money...”Read full review »

Katie makes personal finance interesting and palatable for those who may not have an extensive background in the technical...”Read full review »
