Extremely helpful - best two episodes are the ones with Michael j Greenberg
Michael J Greenburg’s episodes are fantastic, he encourages people to think of OCD as something that you are doing rather than something that is happening to you, which is difficult to face at first, but ultimately very empowering. He encourages people to recognise that intrusive thoughts are very small part of the problem as everyone has them whether they have OCD or not, and they are often very faint, half an image, it is the analysis of that initial thought and the trying to solve an unsolvable problem that brings to mind high-definition awful movies in the mind. He believes that OCD is made up of rumination and physical compulsion only, and that if you eliminate compulsion you eliminate the disorder. I encourage everyone to listen to those episodes and check out Greenburg’s website. PS I am a psychologist and have used this podcast as a psycho education tool for many years. None more than the Greenburg episodes. Thank you Stuart!
