Misses the mark
I’m a football fan who just wants to catch up on what is happening in the A-League MEN. I tune in and the hosts (who are all fantastic!) go straight into the women’s game... INSIGHT: Football fans in Australia follow multiple football competitions across the world and often other Australian codes as well. If you try to ram an extra competition down people’s throat they will disengage. This isn’t against the women’s game - I love the Matildas and will go their WC games but I just don’t have the time or interest to commit time learning about an additional competition. People also need to make a choice to engage, not be shoehorned into it. It’s crazy that there are these incredible football competitions across the world (like the epl) whose marketing is so on point that they have global appeal... and we refuse to learn from them. I’ve spend my whole life watching football and the last 15 years working in branding/marketing. It’s not hard to link them, especially when you have so many amazing people involved, like Garbs, Robbie and Amy.

Great podcast, gents. I love the a-league, but can you have a separate podcast for the Women’s league. I listen to your podcast for the men’s league, and not the women’s. It’s great to promote both men’s and women’s football, but a separate podcast would be ideal.

Hats-off to the two Davids & Tom on their episodes from Qatar. Absolutely loving your coverage of the lead up to the tournament - great insights into all things Socceroos, plus you’re really bringing the tournament to life for all of us that can’t be there. Thanks guys!
