The Pasithea Powder is a monthly audio drama from Bad Wine Productions. On a faraway world, Captain Sophie Green is recovering from a war that ripped her planet apart and left her personal relationships for dead. Among the many atrocities committed on both sides was the invention of Pasithea Powder, a drug with memory altering properties. Thankfully, the drug has been eradicated and only a handful of scientists—now political prisoners—know how to recreate it. When Sophie sees one of those scientists walking free, she has no choice but to turn to an estranged friend for help.

This show stopped me in my tracks
I had been plowing through audio dramas (and loving it) and then I listened to Pasithea Powder two months ago and became unable to think about anything else. No other show I tried to listen to held my attention because I was still thinking about Captain Sophie Green and Dr. Jane Gonzalez. So I just kept listening to it over and over, more times than I should publicly share if I hope to be viewed as a credible reviewer. I just love Sophie and Jane, and their voice actors, and their relationship journey, and the queer representation, and the writing & plot, and the side characters, I could go on forever. Listen to this podcast. For some, the beginning might be hard to follow the first time around, but once you get a few episodes in, I swear you will never look back! 💜
I Have Finally plowed through S1
It took me several attempts to get into this. Finally pushed through and just relaxed and listened instead of my usual if listening while working, and it finally clicked. It is definitely a bit rough but there is a worthy story here, but be prepared for a different story telling approach. It is still not perfect but I am upgrading my 3 to a 4 star and will be continuing beyond S1.
