Surprising
The podcast is fascinating to me but not for the reasons I expected. It was quite sad to see a man capable of showing and dealing with his characters’ obsessions and needs and yet so unaware of his own. The addiction (if you’ll excuse a trendy term) to youthful beauty is a long known element in both history and fiction. Many, if not most, of us men are prone to it. But most of us have jobs and lives that limit it to fantasy. We’re forced to grow up and out of it. But Mr B found himself in a job that allowed him to pursue his drug. It even rewarded him for it. For a while anyway. And sadly, like most drugs and obsessions do, it ruined him both personally and professionally. I understand several listeners’ dislike of him and his podcast. I was disappointed by Mr M’s skirting of this question. I would’ve loved to have heard Mr B’s answer. I have more sympathy than anger. Having said all this I’m eager to hear more on this podcast from TCM.

Well produced and intelligently written...a joy to the ears of every film buff. Just like the films that TCM presents, this will be an instant classic. And Ben Mankiewicz is the perfect host. Thank you again TCM for just being.

Excellent back and forth banter, not just a one way conversation.

Bogdanovich’s story is fascinating, and his reminisces are entertaining and fun.
