This used to be my favourite podcast that I listened to religiously but in my opinion it’s gone downhill over the last few months.

The show was better with Christian Wiman as host, and in the half hour format. I like Lindsay, although she doesn’t get many words in compared to Don, who really goes overboard in some of his poem descriptions. I have rolled my eyes many times while listening to him,and I feel there are times he...Read full review »

This podcast is very interesting. Hosts introduce listeners to poets both new to the magazine as well as more familiar names. Some insightful discussions about the poetry and writings in the current issue of the magazine. Reminds me of classroom discussions of poems read. It inevitably leads to a...Read full review »

With each podcast episode I discover at least two or three marvelous poets I hadn't heard of before (ok so I don't really read much contemporary poetry). And the commentators draw such lovely shapes in the air with their language. I feel really grateful to have access to this for free.

Great poets, smart interviewers who complement each other very well.

I have searched for a podcast that read great poetry, discussed the poems in meaningful ways, dialogued with the poets and also fostered great discussion on the craft: This is what every poet needs and what these podcasts provide. I would recommend these to anyone interested in poetry and writing.

I look forward to this monthly podcast more than I look forward to my monthly paycheck. Great range of poetry, thought provoking interviews, crisp insights - what more do you want?

I love this podcast and listen to each podcast several times throughout the month. The relaxed format provides context and the poem is the highlight, but we hear small sections of the poem later during the discussion to illustrate chosen moments or effects. With every hearing I feel I hear the...Read full review »

Ostensibly, this is a promotional podcast, hyping the forthcoming issue of Poetry Magazine. But that really doesn't do it justice. It's not just a teaser for the magazine, it's a insightful and intriguing discussion of contemporary poetry that stands on its own as a podcast. The co-hosts approach...Read full review »

This is a lively podcast, and the hosts' passion for poetry is clear. The only improvement that I might suggest is to include more "teasers" of poets reading their work, and to spend less time summarizing the issue's contents. Still, a pleasure to listen to, Jesse Ferguson New Brunswick, Canada

My embarrasing confession is that for the first time in my life I am trying to write poetry! I know why but I don't know how! It was inaccessable to me from the poor introductions and presentations as a teenager. HOWEVER, this podcast has given me a lift and a start to my understanding in a...Read full review »

I truly admire how much the podcast enhances and expands Poetry Magazine. Even if you are not a subscriber to the magazine, the podcast gives great access to contemporary poetry. In addition to its usefulness it is highly entertaining. I enjoy the hosts' comments and I love hearing the poets...Read full review »

This podcast is exceptionally interesting to those interested in poetry. It discusses things about poetry and the poets themselves. Overall, it has a nice atmosphere of discussion, but if you are seeking a poetry podcast, this is not a podcast for you. I suggest looking up the NPR: Poetry Off the...Read full review »
