Time Waster
I just listened to the episode "Happy Days.” There was so little substance in these twenty minutes that it reminded me of those ads for people offering "get rich quick" classes but their own wealth only comes from selling get rich quick classes to suckers. It seems like the host is working on his own productivity by not spending a lot of time on making an episode, but as a result he shows no value for his listeners' time. (He hinted at as much, at one point saying in passing that you may have to let go of your own standards). For gosh sakes edit your podcast if you stumble and don't know what you're going to say or where it's going. But maybe it's by design. It was almost artful the way he said nothing of substance for the first 8 minutes, talking around things, painfully circling a point and then walking it back without really committing. Later in the episode there was a lot of jargon that came across as double-speak and I wondered if I was listening to performance art. Maybe other episodes with guests are better but this left such a negative impression on me that I won’t be back for more. I'm surprised this was one of the top results when I searched "productivity podcast" since it has less than 100 reviews.Read full review »

But the host talks more than the guests! Mike, if you invite guests, let them speak. If you want to wax eloquently, then pick a topic and don’t have any guests.
